Well written. I was frustrated by that G&M piece because, like you said, it offers no solutions. I’ve had many friends who have been laid off from journalism (radio and web, primarily) over the last few years, so this idea that “TV is dying” isn’t incorrect, but it’s myopic. Conglomerates hoovering up small town stations, melting them down, and then acting surprised when they lose listenership is another example of this in action. Thank you for speaking the other side on it.
Also, sods to that editor who couldn’t spell your name. I will never understand people who can’t take an extra five seconds to check that they’ve got it right. Like, it’s at the top of the page! Give half an effort 🤦🏻♀️
